Whether the Parting Line design is reasonable directly affects the quality of plastic parts, the overall structure of the mold, the difficulty of injection molding process and the cost of mold making. When choosing the Parting Line, we should follow the following principles:
1. Ensure the quality.
The position selection of Parting Line should ensure the surface quality and dimensional precision of plastic parts, and has no impact on the appearance of plastic parts.
2. Consideration of demoulding.
The Parting Line selection should consider the demoulding of the product, and should be designed at the largest outline of the shape of the plastic part.
3. Simplify the mold structure
The selection of Parting Line should be conducive to simplifying the mold structure and reducing the difficulty of mold processing.
If the vent is blocked or the venting is insufficient and unreasonable, it will cause problems in the plastic parts because the gas in the mold cavity can not be discharged smoothly.
Poor venting will cause the following shortcomings:
1. The plastic parts cannot be formed or the edges of the parts are not clear.
2. There will be obvious flow marks, gas marks and welding marks on the products, and the performance of the plastic parts will be reduced. It will also cause surface quality defects such as bubbles, loose, weak welding and peeling.
3. Due to poor venting, the filling speed is reduced and the molding cycle is increased.
4. The removing of plastic parts is difficult, and the plastic parts are deformed.
1. Adequate Venting Speed
The venting speed should be adapted to the mold filling speed. Expand the vent slot as much as possible, but not so large that plastic can enter and form a spill.
2. Set on the forming part of the plastic part
The vent slot is set as far as possible on the forming part of the plastic parts.
3. Set on the Parting Line
The vent should be set on the Parting Line as far as possible, and it is better on the side of the core (according to the shape, characteristics and mold structure of the plastic part, the vent position is allowed to be opened on the cavity).
4. In the opposite direction of the operating
The venting direction should be in the opposite direction of the operating to prevent burns to the operator.
