1. Mold Design

The mold design is based on the shape, size, material and property of the injection parts. Choose the proper mold material with good quality and property.

2. CNC Machining

CNC machining is a very important part of mold manufacturing. CNC machining can realize high-precision and high-efficiency parts manufacturing, which is particularly important for mold manufacturing. In CNC machining, milling, cutting, drilling and other processing methods are usually used to manufacture the molds.

3. Precision Grinding

Precision grinding is one of the key steps in mold manufacturing. Precision grinding can help grind the individual parts of the mold and ensure its dimensional accuracy and surface roughness. It also can increase the sealing performance and abrasion resistance, and improve the mold life.

4. Electric Discharge Machining

EDM is an efficient non-contact processing method, which can achieve metal melting and cutting through the electricitz discharge, and is also very important for mold manufacturing. EDM is usually carried out in the mold parts with high precision requirements.EDM can improve the accuracy and surface finish quality of the mold, and reduce manufacturing and processing costs.

5. Assembly and Mold Testing

After the mold manufacturing is completed, assembly and mold test are required. During assembly process, each parts of the mold should be checked to be accurate and fastening. During commissioning process, it is necessary to carry out injection molding test for testing the performance and reliability of the mold.

Cold Runner System for LSR Mold

LSR cold runner system is a new type of mold structure. Cold runner system of LSR Mold keeps the liquid silicone rubber cold until the liquid silicone rubber is injected into the hot cavities of the mold. In this way, the cold runner system can save a lot of materials and reduce more waste. LSR cold runner system can effectively reduce the mold temperature, reduce the thermal deformation of plastic materials, improve the quality and accuracy of products, thereby it can effectively improve production efficiency, product quality, and reduce production costs. Due to its advantages, LSR cold runner system has become an important development direction of the injection molding industry.


How does LSR Cold Runner System work?


The cooling water channel and the piston needle valve constitute the major funtioning components of cold flow channel system. Both of them play an important role in LSR injection molding process. The cooling water runs continuously in the channel to prevent the liquid silicon material from curing. The piston needle valve precisely controls the amount of material uniformly flowing to the cavity, ensuring the high quality of the LSR parts.


In a Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) cold runner system, the major components include:


1. Manifold: The manifold is a distribution system that receives the LSR material from the injection unit and distributes it to multiple cavities or nozzles. It ensures even flow and distribution of the material to each cavity.


2. Nozzles: Nozzles are the outlets through which the LSR material is injected into the mold cavity. They are connected to the manifold and deliver the material to the respective cavities.


3. Insulation Plate: The insulation plate is positioned between the manifold and the mold plate. It provides thermal insulation and helps maintain the desired temperature of the LSR material during the injection molding process.


4. Cooling Channels: Cooling channels are integrated into the cold runner system to circulate cooling water or a cooling medium. These channels help dissipate heat generated during the curing process and maintain the temperature of the mold, preventing premature curing of the LSR material.


5. Valve Pins: Valve pins, also known as needle valves, are used to control the flow of LSR material into the mold cavities. They are responsible for accurately dosing and shutting off the flow of material at the desired time, ensuring precise control over the amount of material injected into each cavity.


These components work together to create an efficient cold runner system for LSR injection molding. The manifold distributes the material, the nozzles deliver it to the cavities, the insulation plate maintains temperature control, the cooling channels dissipate heat, and the valve pins control the flow of material. This system helps achieve consistent part quality, dimensional accuracy, and efficient production in LSR injection molding processes.
